Norwegian Cruise Line eliminates ports for carbon footprint

Travel agents and guests have booked several upcoming cruises in Breakaway Plus classNorwegian delightyou will benotified of a change in itineraryincluding a canceled port of call. Many of Bermuda's scheduled voyages to Virginia Beach were canceled without calling at Norfolk, Virginia without an alternate port visit.

Instead, the ship will depart New York City as planned, spend two days at sea en route to Bermuda, take advantage of the planned extended stay in this unique tropical destination, and return directly to New York without further port visits.

This change affects a variety of 7-night round-trip voyages, including the following departure dates:

  • Departure May: 21st, 28th
  • June departures: 4th, 11th, 18th
  • Departures July: 30
  • Departures August: 6th, 13th

It should be noted thatNorwegian delightThe classic "Bermuda" itineraries remain unchanged as Norfolk was never included as a port of call on these voyages, but the ship will now operate many of the "Bermuda Virginia Beach" voyages without the "Virginia Beach" component.

Norwegian delightShe weighs 167,725 gross tons and can accommodate up to 3,883 guests in double occupancy, with 1,700 crew members providing excellent service en route.

Return of Carnival Cruise Line's popular tour

Carnival Cruise Line coming soonBring back the popular "Behind the Fun" tourtaking guests to crew-only areas on board the ship, including operational areas. The cruise line's brand ambassador, John Heald, recently hinted at the tour's return on social media.

"In early February, a look behind the crew-only door will return."this hero.The exclusive small-group tour is one of the latest features to be suspended since cruising resumed in mid-2021.

Originally, the tour was suspended along with other group events such as VIPP loyalty parties, children's programs and elite events such as the Chef's Table dining experience to minimize crowds and reduce the risk of potential disease transmission.

After cruising resumed and restrictions eased, staffing issues continued to pose challenges when it came to delivering small-group experiences, and the cruise line focused its efforts on maximizing service to the greatest number of guests. However, as equipment improved, various features were gradually reintroduced.

Now the Behind the Fun tour is set to return in February 2023, albeit differently"early"There was no confirmation of the exact date the tour will be available.

The tour will likely depart on different dates on different ships, with changes and adjustments required to provide the best experience for guests on different ships.

The world's first 5G cruise

Adora Cruises is working towards a future where guests can enjoy cruisingExperience with 5G connectivity and high speed internetat any time.

The Company is implementing a roadmap to achieve this goal that includes expanding network coverage and operating high-speed satellite communications and various digital applications on cruise ships.

Passengers enjoy worry-free communication at all times with the latest wireless communication technology available on board, including the option to choose between WI-FI6 and 5G cellular packages.

Cutbacks at NCL Entertainment

Norwegian Cruise Line continues its cuts as some crew members report the line is downCut cast members and other entertainment personnel. In some cases, contracts were terminated early and newly hired workers were ordered not to report to the ship.

NCL informed crew members that it is entering a more stable operational state, including some adjustments to inflight entertainment departments.

Cruise Line Email:“Having restarted our entire fleet, we have reached the point where we are transitioning from a 'relaunch' mode to a more stable operating state. As part of this transition, Norwegian Cruise Line is adjusting its onboard entertainment operations."

The Norwegian continues:"We regret to inform you that the decision has been made to reduce the crew of our entertainment department on all ships and as a result your scheduled deployment has been terminated and your services are no longer required."

The Kinky Boots show is suspendedNorwegian encorefrom January 15, and employees were sent home before their contracts expired. Others who were on holiday at the time of the announcement have been warned not to return to their designated ships. Norwegian's press office did not respond to a request for confirmation about the entertainment team changes.

The entertainment staff cuts appear to be limited to Norwegian Cruise Line, as no similar changes have been mentioned at Oceania Cruises or Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Change of departure port for Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises contacted guests aboard the cruise on July 31, 2023Celebrity Apexto notify youChange of port of shipment. Instead of departing from Amsterdam as originally planned, the cruise now starts in Rotterdam.

Both port cities are located on the east coast of the Netherlands, about 78 kilometers apart. Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is convenient to both cities, but guests will need to allow extra travel time to reach Rotterdam for a pickup on time.

All pre-booked transfers arranged by the cruise line are automatically updated to ensure guests arrive correctly at the ship, and guests using other modes of transport such as ridesharing, trains or independent buses are advised to adjust their plans as needed .

It should be noted that the boarding time remains at 17:00. in Rotterdam, just as originally planned for Amsterdam. The reason for changing the port of shipment is shown as"Change of operating hours in the port of Amsterdam",without further explanation. However, this could be related to other changes in cruise ships in the port of Amsterdam in recent months due to local salinity.

Apart from changing the port of departure, no other changes were made on July 31st.Celebrity Apexis browsing. The 9-night cruise will visit various ports in Norway before returning to the Netherlands, disembarking in Amsterdam on 9 August 2023.
