What is the best steak to cook on the stove?
For this type of steak preparation, I prefer skirt steak because we like to cut it on the diagonal for things like tacos, sandwiches, etc.

Brisket is very thin so it marinates well and we always like to cut it very thin, which I think is the case.the secret to tender flank steak.
However, you can use any steak you like, as long as it's cut a little thicker, allowing you to sear the outside before it gets overcooked in the middle! More options?
- rock steak
- crown meat
- flat iron steak
- NY-Strip-Bistec

Condiment for fried steak or adobo
It's all about the marinade or seasoning though. This recipe isn't really a recipe, it's a guide to making your own grilled steak.. Season steak to taste!
Personally, we love to marinate our steaks to further seal in the juices (just pat them dry with paper towels before tossing them in the pan), but many people like to dry season their steaks… which means it's just a generous outdoor seasoning layer. without adding oil, vinegar, Worcestershire, etc.
You can use any type of seasoning you like, but even a simple addition of salt and pepper will help create an incredibly easy and delicious finished steak.

How long should you let a steak rest?
There is some debate on this topic! Ask any chef and you'll probably get a slightly different answer than anyone else.

What is the best steak pan?
One of the biggest secrets to learning how to cook a steak on the stovetop? A quality cast iron skillet! That's right... place your steak in a heavy-duty cast iron skillet and your results are almost guaranteed.
You might be wondering what makes this type of pan so special! Well, cast iron is considered the best type of metal foreven heat distribution. It retains heat exceptionally well, saving you from having to constantly turn the pan and stir your steak as it cooks.
This means your steak will brown more evenly and produce a crust that can't be replicated in any other skillet!
I also love that my cast iron skillets go from the stovetop to the oven with such ease. Find my favorite cast iron pieces atMy shop!
